Norton Racing-
Team Members (1)

Youth before
Beauty! Therefore the youngest team member Christine
"Minzi" Seifert first. Starting rather late she
first rode on a race track in Most 2004, aged 14. Ever since
she would like to ride on race tracks every weekend!
In her first season she progressed from the 1937 Norton 16H
(Most) to
a standart
Commando Fastback (Sachsenring) and finally a Racing Commando
(Rijeka). The coolest of the team by far she likes to
explain the finer points of racing tactics to her father-
|
 |
 |
- unless she
is denied that pleasure because she has to mail her agent
about her renumeration for riding next season, or she
has to haggle with one of the many prospective team
sponsors about the size of the sticker he can expect on
a team bike per million $US.

Katrin
"Maunzi" Seifert was spotted at various
European race tracks at a tender age, first to support
her father psychologically, then to train on a BSA kids
bike in the paddock. Having held a driving license for over
two years to ride on public roads, she had trained on the
track on legendary Norton 16H previously. Her idol is Marco Melandri,
whose career she followed from the very start.
Fortunately she has declined to take to the gravel as
often as he does, in spite of her enthusiasm for him........
Legendary lap times were recorded for her on the 16H in Most,
2003.

Those may be
due to the hot advice she tends to get from her teamboss/father. "Ride as slowly as I do and
nothing can happen to you" mischievous bystanders
swear to have heard here!
After awakening her suspicions at a soapbox race years ago ("Don't brake for the
bend after the finish line, just carry on" which
ended in her turning the soapbox over and nearly ending
up beneath it) Katrin tends to distrust all her fathers
tactical advice- she is not stupid!
In the background can
just be seen the oft-lamented, legendary "heavy
MB100" team bus, which, returning from Rijeka in 2004,
announced its imminent death with a very audible gearbox
problem- after only 10 years and about 200.000km a blow
for the whole team!

Tim sees
himself as the up-and-coming Star rider of the team. Since
spring 2004
he practices with his unrestricted Aprilia RS125 on
public roads. The teamboss finds the Aprilia only
marginally different to ride to his short-stroke 500
Manx. Tim was greeted by the driving instructor, who had
schooled his sister the year previously, "You are a
Seifert, so you can ride motorcycles". His
first race track experience were some laps of the
Hungaroring during lunch break at the age of ten.

His standart
race ware is the Family Commando. In Rijeka 2004 he
equalled his fathers best race lap time in training- at the
Pannoniaring 2005 he was a bit slower but had lots of
fun in the race, fighting it out with his prospective
brother-in-law, who rode his own 750 Commando.
