The Norton International
was designed by us as a Limited Edition commemorating
the 100th Anniversary of James Lansdowne Norton´s
founding of the Company in 1898. The aim was to
create a motorcycle possessing what was always
best in the Norton tradition: an excellent chassis,
lightness, nimble handling, and impeccable roadholding;
combined with looks citing Norton's models of
old. The motorcycles were numbered from 1898
through 1997. The chassis was developed by Tigcraft,
the leading chassis builder in the SOS
racing scene.

For the engine
BMW agreed to supply us
exclusively with the F650 engine, the dominating
engine in single cylinder racing. To prove this
motorcycle was what we claimed it was,
two customers raced a Norton International each
in 1999, ending up 2nd and 3rd in the British
Championship, and 3rd and 4th in the SOS
Eurocup.
