"International to
full Manx Specification"

In pre-war days, Racing Nortons
were not listed as "Manx" models officially, but the dispatch
records describe the racing Internationals as "to Manx
specification" or, even "full Manx".
This is one of them, the 1938
500cc racing Inter of Fritz Kleber, then one of Germany's top privateers,
who raced Nortons from 1937-39, and then after the war until 1950, on this
1938 Norton. Picture shows a typical race of the times, probably post-war,
location unknown, through normal city streets.
For some reason the German
authorities issued vehicle documents, and the 1937 and 1938 documents
still exist, listing the models as "Manx", not
"International".
The 1938 bike is lost- only some
leftover parts exist-, but the 1937 (rigid frame) bike is being rebuilt,
using some of our Genuine Norton Factory Parts at the
moment.
Admittedly Andover Norton have few parts for these models, but gearbox
bearings, clutch parts and other small fittings from our bins can be used.
Very handy for our Managing Director Nick and company owner Joe who both
own pre-war camshaft models.
